Mickey Gilley
Country music artist Mickey Gilley has been wowing fans with his haunting sound of Louisiana rhythm and blues since 1957. The Mississippi native grew up with his two famous cousins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart, surrounded by the influence of music. Gilley made his chart topper debut with his song “Is It Wrong For Loving You,” and gained a total of 39 Top 10 hits, 17 of those making it to the No. 1 spot. After moving to Pasadena, Texas, in 1971, he opened his world famous honky-tonk nightclub, Gilley’s. In 1980 he appeared in the film “Urban Cowboy” alongside John Travolta, Debra Winger and Johnny Lee, and later went on to star in numerous popular television series including “Murder She Wrote,” “The Fall Guy,” “Fantasy Island” and “Dukes of Hazzard.” He has earned numerous accolades including six ACM awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Now in his 80s, Gilley is currently on the Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour with Johnny Lee, playing more than 40 dates across the United States in 2019.

Country Legends Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley Announce “Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour”
Country legends Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley will be joining forces to co-headline the “Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour” beginning January 26. The two friends are reuniting for a series of live concert dates throughout 2018. The tour kicks off in Stafford, Texas and will visit cities all across the country, including Nevada, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. After working together for over 50 years, Gilley and Lee have a friendship and stage chemistry that goes unmatched. The duo can be seen throughout the year in their hometown of Branson, Mo. at Mickey Gilley’s Shanghai Theater.
Mickey Gilley Partners with Tennessee Highway Safety Office to Promote Seatbelt Usage
Country music artist Mickey Gilley is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to promote seatbelt usage after surviving a rollover crash in Texas on January 3, 2018. At the time of the crash, Gilley’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle whose driver failed to halt at a stop sign. Gilley is currently recovering from several injuries, including a fractured ankle, fractured shoulder, cracked sternum, and cracked rib. He credits his seatbelt for saving his life
